• There have been a few global Facility Management outsourcing deals which have been broadly reported over the past few years.  Procter & Gamble (Jones Lang LaSalle), Nestle (CB Richard Ellis) and Cadbury (Johnson Controls).  While global deals grab attention and headlines, the truly global deal which incorporates the full spectrum of FM services across the entire real estate portfolio is still very much a rarity.
• The article examines the differences between having an international presence and truly global operations, the current state of FM providers with respect to globalization and the direction the industry is heading.
• The outlook for FM professionals in a maturing industry is also discussed.
